Code of conduct
Short, because it is simple. Treat the person across the table the way you would want to be treated.
What we expect
- Be on time. The table is held for fifteen minutes.
- Be who you said you are. Right audience, right age band, your own ID.
- Listen as much as you talk.
- No pitching, recruiting or selling. This is not networking.
- No pressure. If the other guest does not want to share a number or stay longer, that is the end of it.
- Drink if you like, within reason. The host decides what reason is.
- No photos, videos or recordings of the other guest, the table or the venue during the meetup.
- Do not look the other guest up online or contact them afterwards unless they gave you a way to.
What gets you removed
- Harassment of any kind, at the table or afterwards.
- Taking or sharing a photo, video or recording of another guest.
- Misrepresenting your audience type, age or identity.
- Turning up drunk or being abusive to staff, the host or the other guest.
- Contacting a guest after they have said no, or sharing their details with anyone.
One strike. Removal on the night, no refund, account suspended. We tell you why by email.
Reporting
Tell the host at the venue, or write to hello@tableofstrangers.com. Reports are confidential.
